The Indian Cricket Team will begin their campaign on 10th September against the United Arab Emirates at the Dubai Stadium. Ahead of the game, the Suryakumar Yadav-led side were seen grinding hard in the net session at the Academy in Dubai.
Going into the tournament, the India team management will have a lot of headaches to deal with, especially with the playing XI. One of the major issues will be who will keep the wickets for the team in the Asia Cup 2025.
India has two options in Sanju Samson and Jitesh Sharma. Looking at the performances over the last years, they clearly show that Samson should be there. But the return of Shubman Gill has changed things completely for the side.
Gill, no doubt, will bat in the top order, and this means that one of Sanju Samson and Jitesh Sharma will have to bat in the lower order. But Sanju not being suited best to bat in the lower-order, there are chances that Jitesh might take the spot in the side.
Jitesh Sharma did a fantastic job for Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. He finished a lot of games for his side, and based on his form, he might take the spot in the XI for the Asia Cup 2025.

However, a video from India’s practice session has revealed that Jitesh might start. In the video, it was seen that he was doing the keeping practice, while Sanju Samson was seen sitting and watching him do the practice.

In another video, when Jitesh Sharma was batting, head coach Gautam Gambhir took him off the sidelines and was seen having an intense conversation with him. This sent a hint that Jitesh might get preference ahead of Sanju Samson.
