She said lettuce seeds are very cheap and will give you an abundance of the leafy vegetable. They grow well in pots, and they can be grown in the sunlight or the shade.
“Lettuce is very cheap, very easy and very quick to grow,” Kia said.

Chillies
That one may be surprising, but chilli plants are also easy to get started. She said they can take a while, but a healthy plant will give you an endless supply of chillies.
They can also be grown in pots or outside.
Snow peas
Lastly, she said snow peas are great for beginners. They grow in a pot or in the ground, but need a trellis to climb up.
“There’s nothing more satisfying than pulling off a snow pea, crunching into it – it’s just really rewarding,” she said.
