Virat Kohli to become first batter to achieve this historic feat in IPL

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) batter Virat Kohli is on the verge of achieving a historic feat in the Indian Premier League (IPL). The batter will become the first player in the history of the league to play 250 games for a single franchise. 

Virat Kohli will be achieving the feat in the Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s game against Delhi Capitals in the Indian Premier League. The match between the teams will take place on Sunday (12th May) at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. 

It will be an extremely crucial game for both teams as qualification for the playoffs is online. Both Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Delhi Capitals are in contention for the spot but a loss for Bengaluru could mean curtains for them in the tournament.

Virat Kohli will be vital for Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the game against Delhi Capitals. The batter is going through the purple patch in the league and is the leading run-getter in the tournament with over 600 runs to his name. 

Virat Kohli will be joining MS Dhoni as only the second player in the IPL who has played 250 games. However, Virat Kohli will be the only player to play for a single franchise. Dhoni on the other hand has played for Chennai Super Kings and Rising Pune Super Giants.

Virat Kohli recently spoke about his gameplay in the IPL 2024 and stated that he likes to take more risks that helps him to improve his strike rate. Talking about the same, he explained: 

“I just like to take a bit more risk & expose that side in middle overs – which is a massive factor. That really helps me to  keep my strike rate up & team as well. For me, Quality over quantity. 

“That is something I try to replicate in every practice session & some added challenges in terms of improving your own game because the game is evolving.”
