US President Donald Trump on Tuesday said that India and all other BRICS nations would face an additional 10% tariff, accusing the bloc of working to undermine the US dollar. Speaking during a Cabinet meeting chaired by him, Trump warned:
“BRICS is getting 10% charge pretty soon,” and added, “If India is a part of BRICS, they’ll have to pay the additional 10% tariffs soon to be imposed on the bloc.”
Trump alleged that BRICS was “trying to destroy the dollar.”
However, he added that BRICS was not a ‘real threat’ in his opinion.
