Renting in Lancaster in the Summer – The Lancaster Property Blog

As the school year wraps up and summer holidays beckon, letting agents like ourselves are gearing up for a bustling period. It’s a busy time for us, as around a third of all new tenancies for the year commence within the next three months. According to data from Dataloft Rental Market Analytics by PriceHubble, an average of 33% of new rental contracts are initiated during July, August, and September, based on figures from 2016 to 2024.

This vibrant season sees a significant turnover of rental properties. Graduates embark on new career adventures, students arrive at universities for the first time, and many others choose to move in with friends, creating a dynamic rental market. For landlords, this surge presents a golden opportunity to find eager tenants and secure optimal rental agreements.

Student landlords, in particular, should take note of a notable trend: the number of students applying for university or college in 2024 is up by 0.7% compared to 2023. This marks the second-highest number of applicants on record, promising a robust demand for student accommodation.

As letting agents, our role is to facilitate smooth transitions during this period. Whether you’re a landlord looking to list your property or a tenant searching for the perfect home, we are here to support you every step of the way. Our expertise and market insights enable us to match tenants with properties that suit their needs, ensuring satisfaction for both parties.

We understand the pressures of moving and strive to make the process as seamless and stress-free as possible.
